BAIP deploys data backup and recovery system for Litgrid of the value of 200 thousand euros

BAIP signed an agreement with Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid, according to which it acquires the solution and deployment of data backup and recovery system. The solution is adopted to the development of the electricity infrastructure and ready to implement it in two distant data centers. Precise contract value – 201,5 thousand euros.
System is adopted for currently arranged data center architecture of Litgrid. It will be implemented through two data centers distant from each other 100 kilometers. High capacity and easy scalable system will secure data and information from loss or damage in different security sub-levels and ensure data recovery in an emergency case.
„Client choose a reliable, flexible solution and data recovery environment, that would fulfill all, including prompt response in an incident case, requirements and comply with the business continuity plan. In a case of system disruption, BAIP solution will ensure less than 2 hours historical data backup and recovery of the system during 4 hours period”, – says Gytis Umantas, CEO of BAIP.

Every day tens of thousands signals are transferred to our data centers from high voltage electricity equipment managed in remote. Seeking to maintain a stable national electricity system we devote a special attention to continuous work of IT systems, data integration, security and recovery”, – comments Valdas Merčaitis, Head of Information and communications technologies center of Litgrid.
Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator manages high voltage power transmission network, which carries the power from producers to distribution grids. Litgrid controls 12 electricity interconnections, through which power is imported from neighboring countries. The company is also responsible for integration of Lithuanian electricity system into European power system infrastructure.
BAIP company has already modernised security and transmission data center, delivers computer workplaces‘ rent and maintenance services and supports more than two hundreds of users for Litgrid.
