T infrastructure service provider JSC “Baltic Amadeus infrastruktūros paslaugos” (BAIP) has joined the team of Lithuanian companies to acquire ISO 14001:2005 certificate. Environment management certificate was given to the company for responsibly and rationally created customer services and wise usage of natural resources in the work environment.
“IT sector looks “innocent” in regard to environment, but because of great energy consumption in production and electric power consumption by servers it already overtakes aviation industry”, says Kazimieras Tonkūnas, CEO of BAIP. “We expect our example will encourage other IT companies to look more responsibly at all our future and invest in environment protection. “
Having implemented the certified systems, BAIP will control electric power, fuel, paper consumption more actively, it will closely monitor utilization of wastes that are harmful to the environment, and will further create new customer services that will help use technologies wisely and protect nature resources in such a way. Amongst such initiatives – paper saving CopyPrint service, that attracted very high attention, virtualization services, which help reduce electric power consumption and server equipment capacities, terminal client installations etc.
