Space technology companies joined their forces and established Lithuanian Space Technology Cluster. The establishing treaty was signed this year, on November 15. Among the founders of the cluster there is a Novian group company Elsis PRO, which specialises in information systems and software creation. Visoriai Information Technology Park is also a part of the cluster.

It is foreseen, that the cluster members will aim to gather the member knowledge and resources in the process of creation and implementation of innovative space technologies, to attract investments to the development of said technologies and to encourage the creation of space-tech related knowledge in the academic community. One of the goals of the cluster is the representation of Lithuanian space sector in the country as well as in international organizations and projects, the launch of collective projects.

“The field of space-tech industry is rapidly growing and developing all around the globe. The established cluster is a solid step towards the development of this promising industry branch in Lithuania,” said Rimvydas Jančiauskas, the general manager of Elsis PRO.

Elsis PRO has launched various space-related projects. One of them is project Galaxy, which was completed in 2020 and was sponsored by the European Space Agency. The aim of the project was to solve the issues the nanosatellites had in communication among each other and with the station on Earth. The project suggested a system architecture, defined system requirements and the formats of data exchange. It is planned to start the next phase of this project by the end of this year and to develop the data exchange platform for Galaxy nanosatellite swarm.

Elsis PRO is running other space-related projects such as a new generation AI-tech based prototype of space monitoring platform. Also, the creation of an advanced defensive space system prototype. The functions of such system are based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. These projects aim to ensure the security of the European Union space.

Since its establishment in 2004, Elsis PRO has gained experience in the creation of software solutions for public administration, finance and tax, healthcare, education, defence and security sectors. Elsis PRO joined the IT infrastructure service and programming group Novian on October 22, 2021.
